Community Education
CMHA can provide a variety of workshops to meet the specific needs of a group of individuals or the organization requesting them. E.g. self-esteem, suicide awareness, depression, grief & loss, dating relationships, etc.
Crisis Line Volunteer Training
This training program is offered twice a year for those interested in becoming a volunteer with the crisis line.
The Crisis Line is available after office hours and 24/7 on weekends and holidays. Out of town calls can phone 1-800-704-4264. This program provides crisis/suicide intervention, supportive counselling, community information and referral information. The Crisis and Counselling Program also offers:
Short Term Counselling
Short term counselling provided to individuals, couples, or families experiencing difficulties in their lives.
Call Alert
Immediate response to emergencies for clients pre-registered in this system.
Telephone Contact
Daily communication with the aged, handicapped and those who feel isolated.
New Parents Support Group
A support group open to new moms. Held twice monthly on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 51 4th Avenue South. Children are welcome. For more information call 305-2529 and ask for Penny.
