A note to FAMILIES experiencing troubles:
Parents:
Being a parent is difficult, frustrating and rewarding. To teach young people responsibility and self discipline is definitely a challenge. We can share with you skills and techniques that others have found effective.
Teens:
Communicating can be confusing enough with friends, let alone parents. Have you ever tried explaining something to your parents and ended up in more of a mess or an argument? Learn simple skills to overcome some of these obstacles.
Considering different options and focusing on solutions may well lead your family to positive outcomes.
Parent Teen Counsellors use a Client Centered/Solution Focused approach, focusing on your individual goals and strengths.
The Parent Teen Counselling program is a member of the Williams Lake Integrated Youth Team, a group of community service providers offering a team approach to assist children, youth and their families.
