Community Based Victim Services
Community Based Victim Services will provide justice related services to victims of family and sexual violence, including:
- adult victims of violence in relationships, sexual assault and criminal harassment.
- survivors of childhood physical and sexual abuse
- child and youth victims of physical and sexual abuse
- child and youth witnesses of violence in relationships
The Victim Service Program provides services to victims of crime who may or may not have reported the crime to police or be involved with the criminal justice system. The program also provides information, referrals, court accompaniment, witness orientation, and liaison with criminal justice system personnel. In addition the program can provide:
- short term emotional support
- referrals to other agencies and private practitioners who can provide counseling services
- information on other community resources
- assistance in completing Victim Impact Statements
- assistance in applying for compensation
- information on basic court processes
- information on the Victims of Crime Act and basic victim rights
- information about bail conditions, probation, parole, and other court orders
- court orientation and court accompaniment

RCMP Victim Services Program
RCMP Victim Services is available for 24 hour service (250) 392-6211. They provide immediate crisis support, intervention and referrals for victims of crimes and personal tragedies. They also provide liaison between victims and the police, coroner's office, criminal justice system and community support agencies. They provide emotional support and encouragement in a non-judgemental manner.

Aboriginal Victim Services
Aboriginal Victim Services will provide justice related services to:
- assist Aboriginal victims (male and female, adult and children) of all crimes (ie. physical, sexual, and spousal assaults, stalking and harassment, etc.)
- increase the effectiveness and confidence of Aboriginal victims while acting as witnesses in court proceedings, by providing court orientation, court accompaniment, emotional support and liaison with criminal justice system personnel.
Aboriginal Victim Services will provide information and make referrals to other appropriate community resources. They provide services to victims of crime who may or may not have reported the crime to the police or may or may not be involved in the criminal justice system.
